For the past seven years, my family has faced challenge after challenge. We’ve packed up and moved ten times—sometimes to a new city, sometimes to an entirely different state or across the country. At first, it felt like we were constantly giving things up. Homes, stability, comfort—it seemed like we were always starting over. But as we’ve grown in our faith, we’ve come to understand that we weren’t just giving things up—we were giving them to God.
Looking back, I wish I could have embraced those hard times with more peace, knowing that God’s plan and timing were far greater than anything we could have imagined for ourselves. Every sacrifice, every move, every unexpected twist was leading us exactly where we were meant to be. And now, as we step into a season of clarity and answered prayers, I can see how God was always working, even when we couldn’t see it.
Romans 8:18 – A Reminder of God’s Greater Plan
One verse that has carried me through these difficult years is Romans 8:18: “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.”
For years, we struggled, wondering when things would get easier. But now, I see that the things I prayed for years ago are just now coming to fruition. That’s the beauty of God’s timing—it doesn’t always align with our expectations, but it is always perfect.
Learning to See God’s Purpose in Every Season
Through every move, every difficult transition, we started to ask different questions. Instead of asking why we were going through hardships, we began asking what God wanted to teach us and who He wanted us to meet along the way. And as we opened our hearts to His purpose, we started to see a clearer picture of where we were meant to be.
This shift in perspective changed everything. We realized that every move, every challenge, was a step toward something greater. The people we met along the way, the places we landed, and the lessons we learned were all part of His divine plan.
The Weight of Surrender
The coffee truck dream was never just about starting a business—it was about family, about purpose, about creating something meaningful together. But before we could step into that dream, we had to surrender so much more than just a business idea. For two years, we blindly moved from place to place, trusting that God was leading us somewhere, even when we didn’t know where that was.
And in the midst of all of this, we held onto the dream of a coffee truck—not just as a business, but as a way to be together more, to work side by side as a family, to build something that allowed us to pour into others while doing what we love. But no matter how hard we tried, roadblock after roadblock stood in our way. Financial hurdles, delays, and uncertainty made it clear: this wasn’t something we could force into existence on our own.
So we surrendered again. We gave up control, let go of our timeline, and placed it all—our dreams, our plans, our future—fully in God’s hands.
And Then, Everything Changed
As soon as we truly surrendered, things started to shift. Opportunities we never could have orchestrated ourselves began to appear. Connections, resources, and timing aligned in ways we never imagined.
What once felt like an impossible dream is now becoming a reality. Our family business is moving forward, and we will be stepping into it full-time. But more than that, we are stepping into a season of peace, knowing that we are exactly where we are meant to be—not because of our own efforts, but because of God’s perfect timing.
Trusting in His Plan
If there’s one thing I’ve learned through these years of uncertainty, it’s this: when you give everything to God, He will take care of you in His perfect timing.
We may not always understand why things happen the way they do, but hindsight reveals the faithfulness of God. The struggles we endured weren’t wasted. They shaped us, strengthened us, and positioned us for the blessings we are now stepping into.
So if you’re in a season of waiting, of struggle, of unanswered prayers—hold on. Give it to God. Trust that He is working in ways you can’t yet see. Because one day, you’ll look back, just like I am now, and realize that every step, every hardship, and every delay was leading you exactly where you were meant to be.
God’s timing is always worth the wait.
